It started thirty years ago.
The first case was Alan Hammons in 1981, a junior with a bright future in theater. He was popular, friendly and was the sort you’d never think to harm anyone. He got leading parts in everything he went out for, and was always around to help. Alan was only at the school for two years before ate one night, he took a butcher knife from the kitchen in his home and stabbed his mother thirty-seven times in the chest and face, and then slit the throats of his two younger siblings. He recalled none of what happened, but the evidence was stacked against him, and he is currently in prison. There was little suspicion for what he did, but there was also no motive.
Jason Doughty was the second case. In 1991, he was legendary as a quarterback and seeking to join the army once he graduated. He, like Hammons, was popular, friendly, and though he partied hard, he kept good grades and never missed a practice. He was at Stillwater for three months, and then several students were complaining that the cafeteria food was giving them stomach aches. He poisoned nineteen people, killing seven before he killed himself with a shotgun to the back of his throat.
Megan Hance was the second case. In 2001, she was a sophomore with a perfect attendance record. She was section leader in flutes, a member of several scholarly national groups and many community service organizations. She volunteered her spare time at a soup kitchen, with the elderly and at animal shelters. After a year at Stillwater Grove, she started lighting fires to the homeless shelters, retirement homes and the ASPCA building. She burned down the football stadium and it has never been rebuilt.
All of these cases were exactly ten years apart, to the day in the case of Doughty and Hammons. Now, it is 2011, and the rumors are starting again, in full swing. Who will be the next student to fall to the curse of Stillwater Grove?
